Adobe is touring the world during June to announce new versions of some of their key products. Adam Lehman, Adobe's product manager for ColdFusion, will be visiting Pittsburgh on June 18th for an evening of information-packed presentations, along with some fun, food & prizes.
There is a lot going on at Adobe with the products that many of use on a daily basis, and this is the focus of their June 2009 Tour:
· FlexBuilder is being renamed to FlashBuilder to better reflect its role as an IDE not only for developing Flex framework applications, but also for the development of most ActionScript applications
· ColdFusion version 9 (“Centaur”) is full of new features
· ColdFusion Builder (previously named “Bolt”) is a new Eclipse-based IDE for ColdFusion application development
· Flash Catalyst (previously named “Thermo”) is an application that bridges the gap between design tools (such as Illustrator) and the Flex Framework
· Check out Adobe Labs for the Beta downloads: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcatalyst/ and http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder4/ Also: Building a data-centric application using Flash Catalyst beta and Flash Builder 4 beta<http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashcatalyst/articles/building_datacentric_app_flashcast_flashbuilder.html> and Video: Flash Catalyst and Flex 4: Part 1<http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=110> & Flash Catalyst and Flex 4: Part 2<http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=111>
Adam has worn a few ColdFusion hats before this, most recently as a member of Ben Forta’s ColdFusion evangelists team. He has worked as a ColdFusion developer on both sides of the fence – writing code as an CF application developer as well as writing code for the CF product itself. On top of that, he’s a local guy, hailing from the Greensburg area.
We’ll be raffling off an iPod, courtesy of Adobe, as well as some gear from the guys at TeraTech. We’ll also have some books to raffle off, and lots of good swag from Adobe.
This event is jointly sponsored by two Pittsburgh Adobe User Groups: The Flash User Group, and the ColdFusion/AIR/Flex User Group. We are also involving user groups from surrounding geographies in WV, Erie, and State College. Please forward this message along to anyone that you think might be interested.
